How it works, in one sentence
You create a company objective with KPIs → cascade it into agent objectives that derive from it (the agent’s KPI tied to the company KPI) → the AI measures the KPIs and shows current × target × trend → you track it in the tree and on the other Cortex screens. The three tabs
At the top of the page there are three views of the same information:Tree

Create an objective
Click Create objective and choose the level:- Company objective
- Agent objective
The “top-level” objective. Give it a clear title (“Grow revenue 30% this year”) and add KPIs — what to measure and the target (e.g. KPI “Monthly revenue”, target $1,000,000).
Focus tip: keep up to 5 objectives and 1 to 5 KPIs per objective, ideally measurable ones (number, % or $). Fewer and better lets the AI focus on what matters — too many KPIs dilute everything.
The cascade (“Derives from”) explained with an analogy
Think of a tree. The trunk is the company objective (“grow revenue”). The branches are the agents’ objectives (“reduce churn”, “raise average ticket”). Each branch derives from the trunk and its KPI feeds a trunk KPI. When the agent moves its number, the company number moves along with it — automatically, with no one recalculating by hand. What the AI can measure (and what’s still to connect)
Each KPI shows a measurement badge:Measurement confirmed
Measurement confirmed
The agent can measure this KPI with the connected resources (a spreadsheet, a database, an integration). The current value is genuinely calculated.
Not measurable yet
Not measurable yet
The data source still needs connecting. iTeam tells you what to connect (e.g. “connect Google Analytics” or “point to the sales spreadsheet”). Meanwhile, the KPI exists but has no real number.
Not verified yet
Not verified yet
The measurement check hasn’t run for this KPI yet. Run the objective analysis (below) so the agent can verify.
Run the analysis (the AI works the objective)
Objectives aren’t static. You can ask the AI to work an objective:1
Run the company objective
Triggers the cascade: every strategic agent tied to the objective is called on. You choose to measure the KPIs, reformulate the hypotheses (what might be blocking the goal), or both.
2
Follow along live
The run happens asynchronously and you watch the progress unfold — the tree lights up as each agent responds.
3
Read the report
At the end, a report brings together the objective, the evidence, the numbers and a synthesis. It also goes out by email and gets its own link.
Automatic measurement: besides running it manually, the KPIs are measured periodically (weekly by default) by a global schedule. That way the numbers don’t grow stale. See the history in Results.
